I got on an exercise bike for ten minutes. My therapist was so proud. “You went all the way around!” Apparently not a lot of people go all the way around the first time. That’s what I was told, at least. I have to imagine a lot of people go all the way around the first time and that they’re all told a lot of people don’t. It feels good, for a minute, like you’ve accomplished something. Afterwards it’s depressing, tho. Your leg hurts for the rest of the day and even the morning afterwards and it’s all because you rode an exercise bike for ten minutes. I used to do one-handed cartwheels into side kicks. I used to run nine miles on Sundays. Now I can ride an exercise bike for ten minutes.
The enormity of the road ahead of me became apparent yesterday.
Hung out with my sister who made me mac and cheese for lunch and couscous for dinner. Tomorrow I’m on my own all day. It will not be easy.
Entertainment update! I watched The Legend of Jimmy The Greek, an episode of Bob’s Burgers, and a lot of Olympics. Played Assassin’s Creed II. Wrote about 2000 words. Read another quarter of Gone Girl, which I will continue to read right now, because it’s at that “can’t put it down” phase. later.
EDIT: Oh, yeah, I also watched Exit Through The Gift Shop. It was terrible.
