Also, Finally Getting Rid of Cable

Between HD antennas, Hulu Plus, Netflix, online streams, HBO Go, MLB.tv, PC-based DVR, and season passes for the shows I can’t get, the $100 or so we pay for cable television each month is completely unnecessary. I calculated that I can watch ALL of the shows I watch right now and save $750 a year. If we decide to watch some shows after-the-fact on Netflix, we save $900 a year. And the X-Box 720 should have BluRay and DVR functionality? Yup yup…

I cannot wait to call Verizon and tell them that I’m dropping cable. Can. Not. Wait.

plasticfarm said: Do it. It was the best decision I ever made. (I did keep the most very basic of cable packages where I get all the local networks so I could watch things like The Olympics and Nan could watch a few shows live.)
